ANNUAL MEETING|IALE–North America Student Travel Awards
In recognition that students are valuable current and future members of IALE–North America, we sponsor a number of Student Travel Awards each year to help lower costs associated with student travel and participation in our Annual Meetings. We typically award travel grants of $700–$800 for up to 20 students to attend the Annual Meeting each year. Recipients of the Student Travel Award are also acknowledged and presented with an award certificate at the Awards Banquet during the Annual Meeting.
ELIGIBILITY
- Any student currently enrolled in a degree program who will be presenting a talk or poster at the Annual Meeting, and who has not previously received a Student Travel Award (STA), is eligible to apply
- Although past recipients of a STA are typically not eligible to apply again, an exception is granted to students who previously received a "travel" award to attend one of the IALE–North America virtual conferences in 2021 or 2022; these students are still eligible to apply for a travel award to attend an in-person conference, provided they have not yet received a STA to do so (i.e., to attend the Annual Meeting held in 2023 or later)
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Although the STA is intended to help lower the financial barrier to attending the conference, the award amount may not (and likely will not) cover all travel- and conference-related costs. Applicants are therefore advised to consider applying for additional funding support (e.g., from their institution) and will be responsible for covering any costs not covered by the STA
