ANNUAL MEETING|IALE–North America Student Travel Awards
OPEN! The deadline to apply for an IALE-North America Student Travel Award will be 11:59pm ET on Monday, December 16, 2024.
In recognition that students are valuable current and future members of IALE–North America (IALE–NA), we sponsor a number of Student Travel Awards each year to help lower costs associated with student travel and participation in our Annual Meetings. Recipients of the Student Travel Award are presented with an award certificate during the Awards Banquet at the Annual Meeting and additionally receive recognition on the Awards page of the IALE–NA website.
IALE–NA will be offering 10 Student Travel Awards, which include a registration fee waiver (provided at the time of registration) and a check for USD $500 (sent to awardees after the conference) to help defray travel-related expenses to attend the Annual Meeting.

ELIGIBILITY
- Any student currently enrolled in a degree program who will be presenting a talk or poster at the Annual Meeting, and who has not previously received a Student Travel Award (STA), is eligible to apply
- Although past recipients of a STA are typically not eligible to apply again, an exception is granted to students who previously received a "travel" award to attend one of the IALE–North America virtual conferences in 2021 or 2022; these students are still eligible to apply for a travel award to attend an in-person conference, provided they have not yet received a STA to do so (i.e., to attend the Annual Meeting held in 2023 or later)
- Although students may apply for both a STA and NASA–MSU Professional Enhancement Award in a given year, successful applicants will ultimately only receive one of these awards (i.e., it is not possible to win both awards in a given year, although recipients of one award would be eligible to apply for the other type of award in a subsequent year)
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Although the STA is intended to help lower the financial barrier to attending the conference, the award amount may not (and likely will not) cover all travel- and conference-related costs. Applicants are therefore advised to consider applying for additional funding support (e.g., from their institution) and will be responsible for covering any costs not covered by the STA
